Plan your wedding budget : a practical guide

Last updated : November 5, 2025

Summary : Planning a wedding is an exciting step, but managing the budget can quickly become a source of worry.

Rest assured: it's entirely possible to create a memorable day within your means. This guide is designed to help you make sound financial decisions, aligning your spending with what really matters to you.

Start with your priorities

Before even talking numbers, the first step is to define together what is non-negotiable. What will make this day your ideal wedding? Is it the venue, the quality of the meal, the musical ambience or an exceptional photographer?

Identifying these key elements will help you allocate your budget intelligently.

Identify major spending hubs

As a general rule, three elements (in addition to the number of guests) weigh most heavily in the balance: the reception venue, the caterer and the alcohol.

But «major» doesn't mean «incompressible». You are in control:

You can opt for a «bring your own wine» formula, offer only the welcome cocktail, limit the open bar to a few hours, or use a coupon system. There's a solution for every budget.

Whether it's a convivial buffet, a four-course meal, canapés, an oyster bar or a midnight snack, the choice should reflect your vision and your means.

This is a strategic decision. Some venues impose their own catering or alcohol service, limiting your ability to compare prices. Others give you total flexibility to choose your own suppliers. Think carefully before you book.

A realistic budget breakdown (for 100 guests)

Based on our experience (over 200 weddings organized), we have developed a budget breakdown estimate to guide you. It's a tool we like to share, as it offers a realistic overview for different types of budgets.

Note: The estimates below are based on a wedding of 100 guests. They exclude outfits (dresses, gowns), wedding rings, accommodation, honeymoon and stationery costs (printing and postage).

Deciphering the cost of flowers

The flower budget is often surprising. But why? Because you're not just buying flowers; you're investing in a complete creative and logistical service.

This cost includes consultation and design, the search for specific varieties, their preservation (products, cold rooms), and all the work involved in setting them up on the big day. In addition, the seasonality and availability of the flowers chosen greatly influence the price.

From the bridal bouquet to the centerpieces and boutonnieres, it's a real expertise at work.

The final word: anything is possible

We repeat: a successful wedding is one that resembles you and respects your limits. The key is flexibility, open-mindedness and creativity.

Our team has the experience to help you navigate these choices and find the best value.

Speaking of budgets, our first exploratory «café-virtuel» meeting is offered. It's the perfect opportunity to tell us about your project, so that together we can explore the myriad possibilities.
